Summary

In this unit, students create a Power Point presentation on one chosen landform or mountain range. Students will explore different aspects of their choice and present their research in a multimedia presentation.

Technology and/or Materials Needed

  • Computers with Internet access
  • Microsoft Power Point software
  • Optional: digital camera, scanner

Implementation Time Frame

Approximately fifteen 45-minute class period

Activities

Students will be introduced to Power Point software and produce sample slides.

Next, students will select a land form or mountain range to research. Each project should include the following elements: table of contents, historical facts, scientific facts, pictures, animals, and plants. Students will research using the Internet. Pictures and photos can be saved from the Internet and inserted into the presentation.

Students leaders should be utilized to help with searching strategies and design features of the presentation.

Assessment

Presentations can be assessed for content and design.
