Objective(s)
- Students will become familiar with Picasso's art through
viewing his paintings.
- Students will create their own "Picassos" of each
of the following type: person, person with hat, conversation
between two people), mirror (reveresed), and self-portrait.
Summary
Six and seven year-old students from St. Dorothy Elementary School in Montreal,
Quebec (Canada), were introduced to the art world of the world-famous
artist, Picasso. Students then created their own "Picassos"
and had them posted on the Internet.

Picasso: The Early Years, 1892-1906
From the National Gallery of Art's site these are lesson
plans the early years of Picasso. Although they are designed
to be used with middle and high school students, the information

of art online. You may want to show selected images and discuss

Assessment
