using technology resources that demonstrate and communicate curriculum
concepts to audiences inside and outside of the classroom.
Summary
Students will listen to songs and draw images to represent
the song. Next, students will write a paragraph explaining the
image and choices made to represent the song.
Technology and/or Materials Needed
- Computer(s) with Internet access
- Scanner
- White paper
- Art supplies
- Recording of chosen songs
Implementation Time Frame
Three 45-minute class period
Activities
Activity description and song suggestions are located at www.magic99.org.
Begin by playing a song for your class two to three times.
Next, pass out paper and art supplies and tell them to draw an
image, picture, or representation of the song. Tell your students
that the images may eventually be published on the Internet.
After the picture is complete, students will write a title
and an explanation of the image--why you drew what you drew.
Go to the site to read further details of posting the images
to the website.
Assessment
Explanatory paragraphs can be assessed for detail and language
usage.
