Summary
In this project, students are involved in many different aspects
of a service project working with the Elizabeth River. Students
were trained to collect samples from the Elizabeth River and
post data on a web site, including text and graphics. This unit
takes place over the course of a year, and this lesson on web
authoring is only one part.
Technology and/or Materials Needed
- Computers with Internet access
- Web authoring tool and teacher-created template
- Microsoft Power Point software
Implementation Time Frame
Two 45-minute class period
Activities
With data collected from Elizabeth River, students will use
a template previously created by teacher or instructional technologist
to insert data and post on the web site.
Students will also be a part of training and sharing results
with elementary students. Students will prepare this presentation
using Power Point.
Assessment
Students' web pages may be evaluated for correct content.
